Hello. I am an Aerospace Engineering Graduate and am currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Bristol.

Project title: Experimental Investigation of Flow-Induced Noise from Aircraft Landing Gear

Project Partner: Safran SLS

University: University of Bristol

Supervisors: Professor Mahdi Azarpeyvand and Dr Daniele Zagaglia

Briefly, what is your PhD project about?

This project will utilise experimental methods to characterise and model the flow-structures and noise mechanisms around aircraft landing gear.

Why is it important to do this research?

Noise pollution from aircraft will need to be signicantly reduced as air-traffic density over urban areas increases.

What drew you to studying this PhD?

The opportunity to develop and master skills in experimental methods, as well as contribute to the future of sustainable avaiation.

What does a Sustainable Sound Future mean to you?

A future in which new technologies operate in harmony with our environment.

What were you doing before joining the CDT?

I completed my MSc in Aerospace Engineering.

What do you do on a typical PhD day so far?

Lots of reading!

Tell us a fun acoustic fact!

Landing Gear are the noisiest component on a civil aircraft during approach.
