CDT welcomes first student cohort

Categories:

After much anticipation and preparation, the Sustainable Sound Futures CDT programme has welcomed its first cohort of 18 PhD students across the 4 partner universities (Salford, Bristol, Sheffield and Southampton). Most will be researching their PhD projects in collaboration with industry, government and 3rd sector partners over the next 4 years.

In addition to completing their local university induction sessions, the students have started to build their online CDT community with quick introduction presentations, panel discussions and Q&As. Together, they will soon start the taught module Fundamentals in Physical Acoustics with Dr James Massaglia alongside the monthly CDT journal club.

November will see the students travelling to Southampton to attend their first in-person residential workshop hosted by the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research.

Busy term ahead!
